We have done a wonderful trip in the White Egyptian Western Desert with Annette Idar, a very nice guide and the very sympatric Bedouins working with her and taking care of all our need during this wonderful adventure.

It was an amazing holiday in very special landscapes that we could meet only on such trip and with a company like Acacia-Adventure and Annette, Louani and her two other children who are doing everything to make us feel very comfortable all the time .

Thank you to Acacia-Adventure for being so well organized and for these souvenirs for the rest of our life

I crossed the Sinai twice on camel back .with Acacia-Adventure.

It was amazing. Camels are great animals. You will know after you have seen that steep stony hillside in front of, thought “no way!”, felt the sting of fear, and then been carried up all the way by your camel, so gently, only soft movements, no twists, no clinging. That’s when you realize how gracious camels are.

The desert is amazingly beautiful, and Acacia-Adventure, the company was excellent.

It was hard to return to work after such a beautiful adventure. I had lot of trouble to leave Cindy, she is so great, so nice and especially so full of patience.

I still have the desert in my eyes!

It was absolutely awesome and very well organized.

People in this country are really friendly and the country is awesome. We enjoyed this trip tremendously – the whole Group was delighted!

Thank you so much again….

Waking  up before sunrise. The contours of the limestone cliffs…Soliman, this wonderful beduinman , smiles at you, already fixing your breakfast but first offering a nice cup of hot tea before you get out of your sleepingbag.
It is cold, mid February. You feel so alive in the middle of nowhere. You get up, walking around, say good morning to the camels , and the breakfast is ready and the first  morning sun just showing up and you know in a couple of hours the temperature will chance from a couple of minus degrees at night to 20 plus at day.

After a long, nice, talking, waking up, morning session everyone gets ready to ride their own personal camel.

This quiet, lonesome, beautiful landscape take you to a meditative mood. Just sitting on the camelback, this floating moon ship, cradling your thoughts to other places than here but still you are so much into the rhythm and scenery. Presence feels more here and now than ever.

                                                    …………………………………………………………………………………….

After a long day on the camelbacks and lunch in the shadow of the acaciatrees (sleeping for an hour or two) you entering the camp for the night.
With a bit sore butt, especially the first few days, you often half sitting in front of the fire listening to the sounds of the desert and small talks or nice storytelling from someone from the Idar family and the beduins about the Sinai history and glimps of them growing up here among beduintribes during the 70,s and 80,s.

                                                       ……………………………………………………………………………………. .

And then, after a always delicious dinner its time to crawl back into your sleapingbag under the million star hotel.
And every night here I feel grateful to be apart of this adventure thankful to Idars and the beduins making this trip so much more than just a ordinary safari.

With their unic knowledge about the beduins, history and nature I cant imagine a more complete guiding team.
And you always find yourself embraced with their concern and warmth for you, this desert, the beduins and the ecological system.
If you haven’t been yet, after reading this, just go, you wont regret it, I promise!

Hi, this is to say that my travels with Acacia and the Idar family are some of my most memorable to date.

The close bonds they’ve formed with the nomadic Muzeina tribe through times makes Camel tours and Diving safaris quite different from most things you can experience. A lot due to us travelling in their fashion, preparing food their way appreciating and cherishing what nature handed us.
I love that you can’t ride past a Muzeina tent without stopping for tea, their children coming at us hollaring Louli, Louli! (Louani may never have met them but their parents and grandparents told them all the stories about the tribe’s honorary members).

If you really want to get to know these surroundings this is definitely the way to go!

Our tour with you in Sinai in September 2001 was one of the best moments in our lives. An old dream to visit the very old monastery of S:t Catherine in Sinai at the foot of Mount Sinai combined with walking tours, a four day long travel on camelback and visits to Petra and Wadi Ram were marvellous experiences.

This tour was exceptional because we got so close to the desert, the mountains, the sun and the starlit nights, our camels and the nice Bedouins who accompanied us.

We would never be able to arrange such a great adventure without your knowledge and guidance. Thank you for giving us this outstanding treat.
